The organizing committee from the Nevada Dept of Agriculture would like to thank everyone who attended the 2014 ILIA conference hosted in Lake Tahoe in July. The Nevada organizing committee would like to thank the guest speakers that made presentations throughout the conference. The panel discussion on the final day of the conference involving the participants from the State Veterinary conference was a great success and thanks to all those that volunteered to sit on the panel. The topic of Animal Disease Traceability was discussed and was a very informative session.
The live and silent auctions went well with the auctioneering talents of Nevada Director Jim Barbee at a lovely location on the beach of Lake Tahoe.
Three Scholarships were announced for 2014 by the ILIA Scholarship Committee, with the winners being from California, British Columbia and Alberta.
The closing banquet was held in the theatre of the MontBleu Hotel and the keynote guest speaker was Richard Picciotto from the New York Fire Dept and was “the last man down” in the collapse of the twin towers in 9-11. His speech was inspirational and heartfelt and enjoyed by everyone.
