The International Livestock Identification Association (ILIA), headquartered in Sacramento, California, is a collaborative network of U.S. states, Canadian provinces, New Zealand, and Native American Tribal Nations committed to advancing livestock brand recording, identification, and inspection. Governed by an elected Board of Directors and supported by Secretary-Treasurer Chad Parker, ILIA promotes professional standards, legislative integrity, and cross-jurisdictional cooperation. The association also administers the Tom Spencer Charity Fund, which provides post-secondary scholarships and supports educational opportunities at the annual ILIA Conference. Through its leadership, membership, and long-standing commitment to public service, ILIA continues to strengthen the livestock identification profession across North America and beyond.
The International Livestock Identification Association (ILIA) is dedicated to protecting, promoting, and preserving livestock identification and inspection throughout North America. As a vital component of the continent’s food supply and economy, the livestock industry provides significant economic value and supports more than 528 million people across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. ILIA upholds the belief that livestock producers are the strongest stewards of animal welfare and encourages the rejection of actions or movements that would negatively impact the industry. Through education, advocacy, and support for the enforcement of livestock ownership and identification laws, ILIA works with agencies, associations, industry partners, and producers to safeguard the integrity and continuity of livestock identification and inspection.
