About the International Livestock Identification
Association
ILIA Mission Statement
Livestock Identification Programs
The
International Livestock Identification Association is
dedicated to the protection, promotion, and preservation
of livestock identification and inspection in North
America. The livestock industry is a critical industry
in North America and generates enormous economic impact
both in job creation and revenue generation. The North
American livestock industry is also critical to
supplying safe food to over 528,000,000 people in
Canada, United States and Mexico.
The ILIA strongly believes that livestock producers are
the best steward of animal welfare, care, and health. We
further encourage the rejection of any movement by any
animal activist, persons, or group that would have any
disruptive or negative affect on the livestock industry.
We believe that our mission should be to help educate
the general public, as well as local, state /
provincial, and federal officials on the critical
importance of the livestock industry in North America.
The ILIA encourages and supports enforcement of
livestock ownership and identification legislation.
The ILIA will assist any agency, association, industry
group, or individual producer in their efforts to
protect, promote, and preserve livestock identification
and inspection.
